"What is most important to you?"

With every outfit, whether navy, beige, green, black or whatever color, my deep blue Nike lanyard with frayed edges and hanging threads, was always the perfect finishing touch. I've owned the Nike lanyard since I was in freshman year, gifted to me as a Secret Santa surprise. At first, I carried it around as a fashion statement hanging down the side of my sweats, with nothing adorning its shiny key loop. Senior year has started, and my lanyard is no longer bare. The house keys I added along with the blue-green plastic of the library cards I attached during sophomore year somehow paired well with the tiny black wallet and black airpods case that hung in the key loop since the start of junior year. Senior year has started, and my lanyard is no longer bare as I have grown alongside my lanyard with its now frayed ends and hanging threads.
