"What is most important to you?"

Aside from journalism, the Women's Empowerment Association is most important to me among my various time constraints. I came across WEA in my freshman year at the clubs fair and immediately gravitated towards it because it touched on often stigmatized topics that weren't given the light of day. As I continued on as an officer I came to realize the nuances of the club as it embodied all of my favorite things; discussion, collaboration, community and civic engagement. The ability to create a space to think through topics in a lighthearted non intimidating way, has provided me with perspectives I carry with me throughout various aspects of my everyday life, both in and out of academics, making it invaluable to me. In journalism I utilize my ability as a writer and editor to continue shedding light on under-represented groups or situations as seen in the Rejected Clubs article and other pieces I've worked on.
